Samsung’s Smart TV can apparently be hacked and used by hackers as a way of spying on the television viewers.

The television has a camera (to be used for Skype), and can be accessed by hackers using malicious code in certain television apps. Samsung says they are aware of the problem and have sent out a software update that should eliminate any threat of hacking or spying. The hackers can watch you live or take still pictures of the television viewers. Hopefully this is all behind us now that Samsung has issued a software update. If you are still worried you can always use a non-tech fix to this high-tech problem by just covering the camera with a piece of paper or other object.
